What do you have to say for yourself Lory?
Although I'm German I have not been very efficient lately. Travel and some projects have disrupted my regular schedule and we all know from lifehacker what happens if you don't have your routine dialled in: Backlog. In my case it was BACKLOG in caps. The blog suffered, the workout suffered and dishes in the sink suffered, too.
But you are still paleo?
Happy to report that I'm still paleo. I have been tweaking my diet a bit though. Reintroduced dairy like grass-fed butter, goat butter and organic goat's cheese like feta and haloumi. My biggest tweak was having made resistant starch and soil-based probiotics a constant component. I must thank one of my readers Brock in HK who introduced me to Richard Nikoley's blog Free The Animal. Nikoley stirred up the US paleo community by talking about the benefits of resistant starch. I have already tinkered with the superstarch UCAN and wanted to see if I can reap the same benefits Nikoley was talking about. I will write a blog post about how I included resistant starch in my diet and how my gut handled it all.
Nope at least not for June. What might cause small backlogs though is the upcoming Asia Yoga Conference June 6-9. I filled all conference days with anatomy related workshops and every morning will start with an Ashtanga Full Primary class led by Sharath Jois. He's the official lineage holder of Ashtanga Yoga. I don't expect him to turn water into wine but I hope that his mere presence will keep my butt longer afloat when jumping through or doing any other hand balance stuff.

I'm trying to maintain a daily Ashtanga yoga practice. So I stopped power-lifting as it had it had a negative impact on my flexibility I did not want to give up strength training entirely and shifted more the kettlebell training. I even signed up for the 300-swings-a-day-challenge. Lo and behold flexibility was not affected by any lingering soreness and the extra power-up improved my core strength and therefore my headstand. My regular teacher Dylan Bernstein is out of HK to teach in Sri Lanka and Bali over the summer. But before he left he made me drop back and come up. Scary stuff. My spine almost sh*t itself.
What else is going on?
Thanks to my paleo friend and original caveman G I got a gig as an assistant teacher to a Kettlebell Master Instructor. That means I'll be inevitably training with kettlebells more and also practice more difficult techniques. Moving past the beloved kettlebell swing
I also got to meet up with a few Paleo entrepreneurs. I cannot say much yet but expect more Paleo related services and food coming to the Hong Kong market. Will keep you posted as soon as I get the clearance to spill the bacon.
Speaking of meet up. Two other fellow paleo comrades asked if we could organize a paleo gathering to bring the Hong Kong Paleo community closer together. We are thinking about an activity + lunch event, maybe at the beach or on the Peak. Planning to do something this June or beginning of July. If you have any suggestions hit me with comments!
