Most of the time my food looks like it was prepared by a sanitary lawn-mower and lovingly tossed by a burly Canadian lumberjack.
Although I buy groceries ahead of time I never plan meals ahead of time except when bulk cooking. I usually am out and about in Hong Kong or I'm at my desk in the flow.... (meaning I should be writing blog posts but perusing other health blogs and going through Groupon offers.)

- Pick your quick cooking proteins:
e.g. eggs, bacon, sliced sausage or sliced grass-fed meat
season with salt and pepper, stir fry, set aside - Pick your quick cooking greens:
e.g. baby kale, yam leaves
season with salt and pepper, stir fry, set aside - Pick your quick microwavable veggies:
e.g. lotus root, pumpkin, egg plant
zap it, cut and set aside. - Pick your condiment:
e.g pesto, mustard
Mix everything together in a large saucepan or wok. If you can do most of the steps simultaneously you could be done in 15 minutes. This mix and match approach won't get you into Masterchef. But it's still tasty, nourishing and will keep you sated.
